As the proud owners of First Impressions, including Aveda & Davines haircare, KPS Essentials Skincare and 1st Phorm Supplements, Andrea & Anthony would like to be the first to welcome you!

The little white house with a pretty pink door was built in 1927. Beginning as a hair supply store, it was converted to an Aveda salon by its original owner and has currently been a salon for over 30 years. as of August 2015, Andrea and Anthony are the 3rd owners. Wanting to remain loyal to it’s roots, they chose to rebrand under the salon’s original name. It has since been completely revamped, bringing you a trendsetting, innovative salon that feels like home.

Andrea graduated from Columbia City High School in 2003. She went on to follow her passion of being a hair stylist and received her licensing from Masters of Cosmetology, here in Fort Wayne. Andrea has 17 years of experience as a hair stylist, 14 of which have been with Aveda. As an owner/stylist, she takes great pride in using her creativity to make clients look and feel incredible. Andrea, along with all stylists & our esthetician from F.I. regularly attend continuing education classes and shows to further their education, providing you with the latest trends and techniques. Andrea enjoys working on DIY projects at the salon and at home in her spare time. She adores their daughter, Aurora who without a doubt is the light of her life and two dogs Rica and Tuck who are spoiled as well. After taking dance lessons for nearly 20 years, dancing is one of Andrea’s favorite things to do. She also loves traveling to new places with her husband and daughter, spending time with family and friends, outdoor activities  and being a mother. She devotes a considerable amount of time to her health and wellness through working out and proper nutrition.

Jami graduated from the Douglas J. Aveda Institute in Lansing, Michigan in 2004 and has been part of the First Impressions family ever since. Jami’s specialty is women’s haircuts but she enjoys men’s and children’s haircuts as well.  If you are looking for a refresh or a whole new style, Jami would love to have you in her chair.  She is also an amazing colorist, so if you would like a little dimension added to your new style, she’ll take care of that too. Making you feel beautiful is what she loves about her job most!

Andrea was born and raised in Fort Wayne.  She graduated from Canterbury High School, and went on to bartend at a few local hotspots before deciding to return to school.  Andrea received her licensing from Ravenscroft Beauty School and began working at First Impressions in 2008.  She enjoys keeping up with the latest trends and has recently attended ‘blonde bombshell’, ‘styled to last’ and the Aveda Mid-America hair show.

Andrea’s husband, Michael, works at the Rescue Mission.  She has a daughter, Sydney, who is in the third grade and a 2-year-old son, Cameron, who is already looking into a career as an acrobat.  They keep her busy, but she still finds time to enjoy a reading, gardening and hiking.

Samantha was a graduate from Leo High School in 2008.  She continued her education at Aveda Fredrics Institute in Indianapolis, IN.  Sam has been doing hair for the past 7 years.  She specializes in highlights, lowlights, gray coverage, hand painting eclipting, balayage, ombre, Brazilian Blowouts, special occasion styles, and women’s cuts.  Continued education is very important to her, so she can provide guests with the best product knowledge and up-to-date styles.

Samantha is married to Austin Harrison.  They share a home with their dog, Peyton, in Fort Wayne.  Her passion is making guests feel beautiful and looks forward to sharing her talents with you!  Check out her photo gallery on Instagram.

Jen became an Esthetician in 2001 and has been with Aveda for 16 years. During that time, she has continued growing her skills through educational training and networking with other skin and hair professionals.  One of her top priorities is to give all of her guests an amazing experience by incorporating rituals and aromatherapy during every visit.  She is known for her “relaxing waxing” technique.  Her goal is to help people obtain beautiful brows and healthy skin.

Hiking on the marsh or in the forest is where you will find Jen when she is not working.  So much so that she became an Indiana Master Naturalist, currently working with Eagle Marsh Nature Preserve.  Inspiration…spiritually, mentally and physically comes from her 3 children, Nate, Lindsey and Joshua.  She says they are her greatest teachers and her biggest fans.

Victoria graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School in 2014. While attending high school she went through Anthis Career & graduated with her cosmetology license. She has been working behind the chair ever since. Victoria loves balayage & styling hair. Her favorite thing about being a stylist is making people feel beautiful! She is a momma to a sweet little girl and married to her best friend.

Sarah is a 2004 graduate of Peru High School, where she went on to study esthetics at Rudeas School of Beauty Culture. Shortly thereafter, she followed her true passion in the cosmetology industry, graduating from Salon Professional Academy in 2010. Upon graduation, Sarah immediately started working as a stylist in Wabash, Indiana. Sarah was named Wabash County Readers Choice Hair Stylist of the year in 2020. She’s an all around color specialist. Sarah especially loves doing anything BLONDE, including highlights, babylights, teasylights, ombré/balayage, color melts and grey blending. She also specializes in men’s and woman’s haircuts, and is certified in Brazilian Blowouts.

She has 3 children, Parker, Piper, Porter and their pup, Demi. In her free time, Sarah enjoys watching her kids‘ sporting events, fitness, and traveling with friends.

Diana completed the Manicuring program in May of 2021 at Ravenscroft Beauty school with high honors and a reward of “Most Outstanding Student” out of all departments in the school! When Diana was in high school she had her own “Mobile nail salon”. She would carry 4 tubs full of nail supplies around in her 2001 Chevy Impala with her at all times. So when a friend or family member wanted their nails/ toes done, she would be ready for them. Diana’s favorite service is Gel Manicures. She also loves providing all different kinds of nail art for her clients. She loves learning everything about nails to make sure she is providing you with the best service possible.

Diana loves spending her free time traveling and exploring new places with friends, spending time with family, and watching “The Vampire Diaries”.

You may have spoken to Diana on the phone while booking an appointment. She was one of our receptionists for about a year before taking the plunge to became a Nail Technician. We are so proud of her for following her dream and so happy to still have her on our team!

Amy has been a hairstylist for over 10 years. She loves being able to make people feel good and relax in her chair. She has made amazing relationships with her guests over the years and that is a big reason why she loves doing what she does. She has an amazing hubby at home with 3 beautiful babes and a dog named Brody. This season of life is pretty busy but she wouldn’t want it any other way!
